These works are part of the series 'Naked', which explores cultural identity as a source of resilience and grounding in an increasingly complex and shifting world.
The compositions merge painting, embroidery, and paper collage, reflecting the interplay between vulnerability and strength. Embroidered lines mimic the vein patterns drawn from the artist’s own hand—tracing what lies beneath the surface, both literally and symbolically. These delicate lines speak to the inner force that sustains us, even when we feel exposed or uncertain.
White dominates the palette, a color that suggests tenderness and openness, while also carrying quiet strength. Scraps of paper partially conceal and reveal the surface, suggesting a desire to hide or protect oneself. At the same time, they reference traditional garments or national costumes—symbols of cultural belonging and identity. This tension between concealment and expression speaks to the dual experience of feeling unguarded yet grounded.
The series began as a material and visual experiment—an intuitive search for new patterns and ways to express emotional and cultural complexity. Through this exploration, the work meditates on what it means to be truly seen, to be vulnerable, and to find strength not despite, but through that vulnerability.
